"Models and Models" – Julia Koerner
Julia Koerner’s presentation focuses on recent innovations in 3D printing, which have revolutionized the cross-disciplinary design work of architects and fashion designers. Such novel collaborations within the fashion industry are disrupting traditional craftsmanship and empowering innovation by utilizing emergent technologies. These new methods re-form fashion production and potentially reduce shipping, carbon footprint and textile waste, and open opportunities for implementing sustainable processes in production, alongside innovative new aesthetics.
The Alberini Family Lecture in Design Series is supported through an endowment by the Carlos and Andrea Alberini Family Foundation, brings to campus renowned innovators and thinkers in design to inspire students and encourage community engagement and learning.
