Join us for the free public symposium celebrating the CA Election 2022 Data Challenge on November 7th from 5-7pm.
The California Election 2022 Data Challenge is a month-long data science + civic engagement competition sponsored by the UC Davis DataLab designed to leverage public data to help us understand this year’s ballot initiatives. During the Challenge participating student teams build data literacy and visualization skills, and contribute to qualitatively-informed civic dialogue by applying data science to questions about current ballot initiatives.
During this webinar finale we will announce the 2022 Challenge winners, and feature keynote talks on data literacy and civic engagement from Jesse Salinas (Yolo County’s Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Chief Elections Official), Jeremia Kimelman and Erica Yee (CalMatters Data Journalist and Data Reporter), and MacKenzie Smith (UC Davis Vice Provost of Digital Scholarship and University Librarian).
