Insect Olfaction and Taste in 24 Hours Around the Globe
This 24-h event will be separated into three contiguous segments of 8 hours each, starting on Wed (August 11), at 9 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). At 5 PM in Davis, 10 AM in Melbourne (Thursday, Aug. 12), Coral Warr will host the Australia Eastern Standard Time (AEST) segment. Then, at 6 PM in Melbourne, 9 AM in Cardiff (Thu, Aug. 12), Wynand van der Goes van Naters will be hosting the British Summer Time (BST) segment. There will be invited and contributed lectures throughout the program. Registrants are encouraged to indicate their willingness to give short presentations. We will be filling the slots on a first-come, first-served basis (by region; PDT submissions are now waitlisted). We are making our best effort to include earlier career professionals, women scientists, underrepresented minorities, and cover a wide range of topics from receptors to ecology.

The program includes a Preface by John Hildebrand, an opening lecture by Josefina del Marmol, and keynote speakers by: Richard Benton, Greg Jefferis, Leslie Vosshall, Ke Dong, Zain Syed, Jeff Riffell, Sylvia Anton, Frederic Marion-Poll, Anupama Dahanukar, Marcus Stensmyr, Melissa Jordan, Guirong Wang, Silke Sachse, and others. The three co-hosts will serve as moderators along with Karen Menuz (PDT), Wei Xu (AEST), and Emmanuelle Jacquin-Joly (BST).
Please note that there is a limit of 500 virtual seats in this webinar. Registrants will receive a link to YouTube streaming in the event of an overflow.
The symposium will not be separated by theme. It will include invited presentations intercalated by contributed talks. Thus, there will be about five keynote lectures per segment.

We will make our best effort to record all presentations and make them available to all registered participants. We apologize in advance for possible technical glitches, given the challenge of having a 24-hour event worldwide.

The organizers appreciate your participation and hope you'll enjoy the symposium.
