UC Davis Book Project: "The Talk": Your Colleagues Speak
This session explores Black parents' extra developmental task and skill they need to accomplish and impart to their children regarding encounters with law enforcement officers. A few of your UC Davis colleagues who have lived experiences with this task and skill development will share their expertise and perspectives. What do we say to their children? How do we say it? How do we teach it without frightening or disillusioning our children? Can you teach it without frightening and disillusioning your children? What does it cost Black parents and children? When will we not need to do this anymore?
